Today we finished builing and testing both the 2 el. SteppIR antennas. We also built and tested the CrankIR antennas.
Today we have tested the InMarsat interace for satellite upload of our logs to Clublog. Wa also have cut and prepared the feed lines for our RX-antennas. Lasse, SM5GLC and Brian, N9ADG is preparing the InMarSat interfaces for our ‘near’ real-time logupload to Clublog. We were at Paul Newman VK4APN QTH yesterday training on how to build tents and operate generators and so on.

The Scandinaves are ready to take off from Arlanda Airport.
This is the first news update of many to come. Rob N7QT and Brian N9ADG arrived in Cairns today towing about 200 lbs of gear with them. They are buying clothes there in Australia and started shopping for supplies. The team has been granted Mellish Reef landing rights for Heralds-Beacon Islet! Hearlds-Beacon is the most distant land in the Coral Sea, about 1150km NNE of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland and 1080km from Cairns, the closest port. The team has been approved/granted landing rights for a 14 day duration in November 2017.
Our nine operator team is now complete. Fund-raising and planning continue. We’re happy to announce a partnership with Tangaroa Blue Foundation and the Australian Marine Debris Initiative, in conjunction with Parks Australia and the Department of the Environment, to conduct an island cleanup and debris inventory of Heralds-Beacon Islet.
